Who we are
This website is run by Firefly Digital LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. We are responsible for the personal data described here.
This policy covers this website only. It explains what we collect when you visit and when you email us, and nothing more. The site has no contact form, no accounts and no checkout.
For any privacy question or request, wherever you live, you can contact us directly at team@firefly-digital.us.
What we collect
We collect very little. There are two cases.
When you visit the site. We count page visits and button clicks with our own simple tool. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. For each event our server saves:
- the time, and the type of event (a page view or a button click);
- the address of the page you were on, without anything after a ? or # (for example /privacy);
- for button clicks, which area of the page the button was in;
- campaign tags in the link you followed, if any (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, or a ref tag, which we treat as utm_source);
- the name of the website that sent you, if any (only the site name, never the full link);
- your country, as a two-letter code. Our host, Vercel, works this out from your IP address and passes us only the code;
- your device type: mobile, tablet or desktop.
We do not store your IP address or your browser details. We do not use cookies, local storage or any other storage on your device. We do not load scripts, fonts, images or other content from other companies. We do not create a visitor ID, and we do not follow you across other websites.
To block abuse, our server briefly uses a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser details. The scrambling changes every day. The code is kept in memory only and is never saved or logged.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count your visit at all.
When you email us. If you write to team@firefly-digital.us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message and any attachments.
Why and how long
Visit counts. We use them to see which pages people read and which links bring visitors. This is our legitimate interest in running and improving a simple website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Because we store no IP address and no ID, we cannot tell who you are from this data. A daily job deletes visit records after 90 days.
Emails. We use your email only to read and answer it, and to talk about work you ask us about. If you ask about working with us, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, or performing a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). For other messages, it is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We keep emails for up to 24 months after the last contact, then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Who processes it
We use a few service providers. They handle data for us and only on our instructions.
- Vercel Inc. (USA) hosts the website. Like any web host, Vercel receives your IP address and browser details when your browser asks for a page. These appear in short-lived server logs that we can view for 1 day on our plan. Vercel may keep its own records under its policies. We do not copy these logs into our visit data.
- Supabase stores our visit counts in a database in the EU (Ireland).
- A hosting provider based in Germany receives email sent to team@firefly-digital.us.
- Google (Gmail) (USA): emails to team@firefly-digital.us are forwarded to a Gmail inbox, where we read and answer them.
- An AI assistant service we use to sort and draft replies reads incoming emails for that purpose.
Your rights and how to contact us
If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct it;
- have it deleted;
- limit how we use it;
- object to how we use it, including the visit counts;
- receive it in a common format to move it elsewhere.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live or work.
If you live in California, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we have collected about you and how we use it;
- delete it;
- correct it.
You can make these requests by email, whether or not a particular California privacy law applies to us. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count your visit.
How to ask. Email team@firefly-digital.us and tell us what you would like. We may ask you to confirm it is your email address before we act. We aim to reply within one month. If a request is complex, it can take longer, and we will let you know. Our visit counts hold no IP address or ID, so we usually cannot find a single person's visits in them.
International transfers
We are a company in the USA, and our service providers handle data in the USA, in the EU and possibly in other countries. So your data may be processed outside the country where you live, including in the USA, where data protection laws may differ from yours. Our visit database is in the EU (Ireland) and our email host is in Germany. Vercel, Google and our AI assistant service may process data in the USA and other countries. Where our providers offer them, we rely on their standard safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Children
This website is meant for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you think a child has emailed us, tell us at team@firefly-digital.us.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does changes, we will update this page and its effective date first. The date at the top always shows the current version.
